If you want to have a relationship with the Creator, the good news is that He already did the hard part when He paid the death payment for you.  Down through the ages He has caused men who were restored to a relationship with Him to write down His thoughts for us to read.  These words have been put into a collection that we refer to as the Bible.  The Bible tells us that if we confess to Jesus that we know that our deeds are evil and believe in our hearts that Jesus died to take our punishment, then we can be restored to the relationship that we lost so long ago.  He forgives you of all the evil things you have done and He no longer requires that you make the death payment.

Tell Jesus that you don't want to continue on the path of evil any more.  Let Him know that you accept His authority in your life to lead you and to guide you.  Thank Him for paying your death payment and for giving you new life.  Welcome Him into your life and seek a relationship with Him by reading the Bible and by talking with Him.

By the way, talking with Him is easy.  He knows your very thoughts, so you can either talk out loud or you can speak inwardly by using your thoughts and feelings to communicate with Him.  It's just that simple, and you can do it anywhere and at any time.  The important thing is that you communicate with Him, because it's impossible to maintain a relationship without communication.

Following Up

If you have sincerely asked Jesus - your Creator - to forgive your evil deeds, and you desire to walk in obedience to Him, then you have just joined millions of people who have already rediscovered the lost relationship.  Rediscovering this relationship does not make you perfect, but it will set you on a path with the Perfect One - Jesus - always at your side.  You have become a new creation, and when God looks at you He sees you as clean and holy.
